CHIROPRACTIC ASSISTANT

Position Overview:
The Chiropractic Assistant in a sports chiropractic office provides essential support to Chiropractors and assists in the delivery of chiropractic care to patients. This role involves a combination of assisting with therapeutic procedures, patient interaction, and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities:

Patient Care:
- Assist Chiropractors with patient examinations and assessments
- Prepare patients for chiropractic adjustments and therapies
- Provide assistance during therapeutic procedures, such as electrical stimulation, percussion massage and stretches
- Educate patients on exercises and home care instructions prescribed by the Chiropractor
- Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients during their visits

Rehabilitation Support:
- Assist with rehabilitation exercises and therapies as prescribed by the Chiropractor
- Monitor patients' progress during rehabilitation sessions
- Document and report any changes in patient condition or progress to the Chiropractor

Patient Education:
- Provide information to patients about chiropractic care, sports injuries, and preventive measures
- Answer patients' questions and address their concerns regarding treatment plans

Equipment and Supplies:
- Set up and prepare treatment rooms with necessary equipment and supplies
- Ensure all equipment is in good working order and properly sanitized
- Order and restock supplies as needed

Administrative Duties:
- Manage patient scheduling and appointment reminders
- Maintain patient records and update information as required
- Handle patient billing and payment processing
- Answer phone calls, emails, and inquiries from patients regarding appointments and services

HIPAA Compliance:
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Handle patient information securely


Qualifications:
- Bachelors in Kinesiology (preferred) and/or Certified Personal Training and Corrective Exercise Specialist certifications
- Previous experience in a chiropractic office, sports medicine clinic, or a related healthcare setting is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in using office software for scheduling and record-keeping
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and musculoskeletal anatomy
- Ability to work effectively in a team and assist Chiropractors in providing patient care

Additional information:
- This role involves working in a multidisciplinary office environment
- The office is staffed with a Chiropractic Assistant Monday through Friday 9am-1pm, 3pm-7pm as well as Saturdays 9am-2pm
- Physical stamina may be needed to assist with patient treatments and exercises
